Clarity & Flow through Creative Immersion
When I was writing my latest book Conscious Writing I discovered the full extent of the transformative potential of creative immersion.
By this I mean scheduling significant chunks of time away from your everyday commitments to dive deeply into your content and your writing (or any form of creative expression) without distraction.
The Ideal Creative Mix
For many years I’ve been teaching an approach that includes a mix of regular short stints – which are wonderful for developing the positive habit to show up and write – alongside what I call “creative immersion”.
Yet it was the process of writing about Conscious Writing with the intention of living the truth of every single aspect that inspired me to create more space in my schedule to follow the golden thread of inspiration for longer periods of time.
This is how I discovered a deeper level of truth, clarity and flow than ever before.
And I’ve been using varying degrees of creative immersion for all of my creative projects ever since.
The Shift from “Find” to “Make”
The reality is that finding the time to honour your creative impulse fully when you have a schedule that’s already crammed with commitments isn’t easy.
In fact this is one of the most common issues for many of the people I mentor.
However, it’s not really about “finding” the time; it’s actually about making a conscious choice to claim your right to create and “make” the time!
I’ve had to find my own solutions to this challenge over the years; and in the process, I came up with the idea to create a solution for others to benefit from too.
The Conscious Writing Retreat
This is the inspiration behind the Conscious Writing Retreat which takes place over the course of a long weekend in the sacred landscape of Glastonbury.
The retreat experience offers a priceless “time out” from the distractions of daily life to immerse yourself in conscious living and deep creative exploration.
It provides a mix of guided sessions and personal time for clarifying your vision, developing your ideas and doing your writing alongside optional activities including walking, 5 Rhythms inspired dance, yoga and more!
Highlight of the Year
I have to say that leading this retreat is a highlight of the year for me and I’m always humbled by the depth of transformation and quantum leaps in progress participants make.
The fact that many people have returned each year to experience the retreat again shows that I’m not the only one who feels this way.
If you feel something stirring within you from reading these words, even if it’s quite subtle at first, I encourage you to pay attention to the intuitive nudge and follow through to find out just how much clarity and flow this kind of creative immersion will deliver up for you.
Early Bird Tickets
The retreat is taking place from Friday 23 – Monday 26 June and I’m delighted to share that the Early Bird tickets are now available!
