IACCW Member Event: Seven Practices to Find Your Authentic Voice

Julia McCutchen interviews Andrea Beaulieu eeandrea_03351

Thursday 3rd June at
16:00 BST / 11:00 EST

We all have it – that still, small voice that urges us gently, quietly, but ever so confidently, in the direction of our highest good. It is our authentic voice – the one we were born knowing. Then, through experience and the conditioning of the mind, we often lose our conscious connection to it, except perhaps during times of danger, or when we have surrendered to our authentic self so deeply and joyfully that we hear it and follow it.

That same voice is the voice of our highest creativity. It is the voice that gives us the perfect idea, solution or direction. It gives us the perfect words and actions to express our uniqueness. It is the voice that shows up when we face the blank page, if we listen for it and to it. It is our authentic voice.

Interview with Award-Winning Author Julia Cameron

JuliaCameronReading Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way was a real turning point on my journey from publisher to author.

Having spent many years supporting other people’s creative expression in the role of publisher, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to access my own writer’s voice.

Admittedly, publishing is an immensely creative business – at least in the independent sector where I spent most of my time in-house.

Yet my writing experience was primarily centred around private journal writing alongside professional copy writing to promote books written by the authors I have always loved working with.

I wondered if The Artist’s Way would work for me?

The Writer’s Journey Blueprint for Your Writing Success – Tip #6

Give yourself the gift of qualified support to reach your goal of being published

The Writer’s Journey can be a lonely path. So much of what is involved in the writing process goes on ‘behind the scenes’.

Working from the ‘inside out’, the early stages of the journey are all about you and your connection to the words on the page.

So you start by looking within to discover the true source of your writer’s voice. This actually lies in the deepest part of your True Self – your essence or spirit (or whatever word feels right to you).

This is also where you discover the gateway to your most original ideas via direct access to the creative energy which fuels the fires of your writer’s soul.
