IACCW Member Event: How to How to Harness the Power of Belief to Support Your Creative Writing

Julia McCutchen interviews Sophfronia ScottSophfroniaScott200

Whether you realize it or not, every choice you make and every action you take is sending out a message about how you think about yourself, your writing and the world. And people are making decisions about YOU and your writing based on those messages.

Join us for this enlightening discussion in which you will learn:

  • what a belief system is and why it’s important to understand yours
  • how to recognize and verbalize your personal belief systems
  • whether or not your beliefs show up in your writing
  • how to change your beliefs, if necessary, to support yourself as a writer
  • ways to adapt your approach to writing so that it better reflects your beliefs and makes your writing stand out

Sophfronia Scott is author of the novel All I Need to Get By (St. Martins Press, 2004) and has published essays in Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul amongst others. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Creative Writing-Fiction at the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Sophfronia is Executive Editor of the Done For You Writing & Publishing Company. Spring Equinox News

JMstandingingardenHi Aspiring & Published Authors!

The 20th March marks the Spring Equinox here in the northern hemisphere. This is an excellent time for conscious writers to celebrate the renewal of life on earth and to begin new creative projects or initiate a new phase of existing ones.

New phases seem to be a constant theme in my life and in the lives of the majority of people I know and work with! In fact, on-going transformation is a sign of the times as individually and collectively we release the old and open to new ways of being in the world as conscious co-creators.

This leads me in to an exciting announcement for today which is that the details of the International Association of Conscious & Creative Writers (IACCW) annual Symposium are almost ready to share with you!

The theme for this year’s virtual event with bestselling authors and international experts is 2012: Understanding Our Role as Conscious & Creative Writers in a Changing World.

We have an inspiring line-up of speakers who will share their wisdom and expertise with you, and more information will follow next week. In the meantime, please put the dates in your diary right now: Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd May.

All live interviews are free for everyone to enjoy. Audio recordings are reserved for IACCW Members.

Speaking of Members, the deadline for the IACCW March Membership Offer is just 2 days away on Wednesday 21 March. For free access to all of the Symposium interviews (this year AND last year) PLUS our Free Bonus Gift for March and all of the other Benefits of Membership, read more and join by clicking here.

One other deadline to draw your attention to this week relates to the 2012 Training, Coaching & Mentoring Programs. If you’re interested in working with me individually this year, you’ll need to apply by Tuesday 27 March. Read all about the three-tier structure of programs for this year plus how to register by clicking here.

Enjoy the journey!

6 Ways to Get Your Book Discovered on Amazon

AmazonSearchResultsI am delighted to introduce this guest article from Dana Lynn Smith, The Savvy Book Marketer. Enjoy!

With millions of books listed on Amazon, it can be a challenge to get your book noticed by shoppers on the site. Here are six strategies for helping customers find your book on Amazon.

1. Use Keywords in the Title and Subtitle of Your Book

Many shoppers search for books on Amazon by doing keyword searches, so it’s important to use relevant keywords in the title and/or subtitle of nonfiction books. If you’re publishing in Kindle format, it’s easy to add a subtitle if the book doesn’t already have one.

There’s also a keyword area on the Kindle publishing dashboard where you can input keywords for all types of books. Think about what kind of terms people might use to search for books like yours on Amazon.
