  • Have you thought of using workshops, talks or presentations to promote your book, product or services but don’t know where to start?
  • Does the thought of standing in front of a room full of people feel daunting?
  • Maybe you’ve run a few events but would like to refresh them or increase their impact?

Using talks or workshops to promote your book is an often overlooked approach, but whether you’re a seasoned trainer or a complete novice, it’s a highly effective way to get yourself and your work known.

It is often said that ‘people buy people’, and it is as true for authors and their work as it is for other products and services.

Meeting and engaging an audience not only brings to life your ideas, it also gives your readers a chance to ‘try before they buy’ – whether that’s simply through developing a relationship with you, or from getting some taster ideas from your book.

Of course, you can also sell the book itself on site – and any other products or services you might have – to take full advantage of the enthusiasm you generate … and you never know who’s in the audience and who they might know or be connected to!

Publishers are certainly looking for authors who are in contact with their audience and who will generate as much awareness as possible for the books they want to be successfully published.

And being 'visible' in the world as an expert on your subject, or a seasoned storyteller if you are writing fiction, is part of building your author's platform. This will help you to secure a publishing deal in the first place and contribute to your book selling well once it is published.

So if you'd like to reach out to more people with your ideas, join us for a creative, inspiring and practical interview with author, Executive Coach and Mindset Consultant Nikki Highmore Sims.

For years Nikki has been designing and delivering fun-to-run, effective workshops, programmes and seminars; and coaching others to do the same, regardless of their experience.

By the end of the interview, you will have learnt a step-by-step process that will allow you to:

• Put together a quick and easy framework from scratch ...
• Create materials that will get you remembered ...
• Use design to keep your group constantly engaged and having fun and
ensure you also enjoy the experience ...
• Successfully promote your book, product or service during and after the talk, presentation or workshop.

Nikki Highmore Sims is a Mindset Consultant, Executive Coach and Writer. In business she specialises in liberating people’s potential, communication and motivation. Nikki’s ideas were absolutely inspiring. Off the top of my head what worked was that she was instantly able to find creative solutions out of something that had appeared to me to be lifeless. I honestly believe that Nikki has the ability to make something out of anything, and that makes me feel that I can too if I use what I know now!
